The Train Story…
By Cookies Cream | May 14, 2008
Today is considered as my happy day because, I did something that I’m happy about it. (Sounds like a crappy starting point!) I’ve been having lots of problems when traveling back with train stations..be it Putra, the Star Link, or KTM. I really do not understand what’s on people’s mind nowadays, I’m sure if you are a person that understands and know what’s rule, politeness, and all…AND YOU DO FOLLOW RULES AND BE POLITE, you sure will come through those stupid people who do not know how to queue up and won’t stuck people’s way form getting out of the train. I’ve been really mad about these type of people every single day! BUT, what can I do? I thought of asking them to queue up in a polite manner, but what if they do not listen or scold me back? Then what shall I do???
*Sigh* I remembered once when I was waiting at a KTM station. That time the crowd in the train was really huge and I could barely get into the train. Then came one lady who pushed me several times, I told her politely:
Me: “Can you please don’t push me?”
Unreasonable Lady: “Then go in la!”
Me: “If I can go in surely I’ll go in…” (wth! There’s no space to go in already how am I supposed to go in?!!?!)
Unreasonable Lady: “Yala…go in la!!!”
Yes, I was sooo darn pissed off with her (Wish I could just scold her back on her face!) but what can I do? If I scold her back she’ll scold me back cause she don’t know what’s wrong with her!!!
Then, there’s one day when I was traveling at Masjid Jamek’s Star LRT. I was queuing up as usual, then suddenly I heard a man’s voice scolding someone. There came a formally dressed, smart looking (mid-30’s) man who actually scolded a lady for not standing at the queue up line! The lady made some “busuk” face but slowly shifted out from middle of the train door (where you shouldn’t be standing there!) as I believed she’s totally embarrassed by the situation where everyone’s looking at her. I was so amazed by the braveness that the man did! BRAVO! I’m happy to see that there’s still these kind of people out there who will stand out of the crowd and be a man~! =) I’m still not that brave to do so as I’ve yet to find out a good solution if the person fights back…. :’(
Then came today, I was waiting at Masjid Jamek’s LRT. While I was queuing up, a lady in her mid-40’s dressed in a set of pink blouse and pants stood in the middle of the train door~! I was standing on the left queue up line, then…a young lady who stood on the right queue up line was looking at the lady in pink fiercely! From that moment, I knew she’s the same type of person as I am….hohoho!
The train then arrived, while the train was going to open it’s door…the three of us were standing closely trying to get the first place to go in. Me and the other young lady trying to block the pink lady from going in first! The lady in pink surely can’t go in as there’s a lady inside the train who wanted to come out too! Me and the young lady have succeeded blocking the lady in pink from getting into the train first. Well, she almost fell down and she made the unhappy sound but who cares! She’s the one who didn’t queue up….so serves you right!!!
I’m sooo happy cause the young lady and I had successfully blocked the lady in pink! Hope that the lady in pink will realize that she should really queue up! People might say, aiya…just scold them! But, what if they ignore the scolding? What if they scold you back? Then what should you do? Scold them back? There’s people who don’t feel embarrassed if caught doing something wrong, they only know they’re right even thought they’re not!
People might also say, it’s just a small thing…it’s just queuing up and getting into the train. What’s the point of making things sounds like it’s serious? If people do not obey rules, do not know how to be polite, no manners….then what’s the point of having rules and learning morality?
If you guys have any good ways or methods on how to manage these kind of rude, no manners people who like to cut queue, don’t queue up, or doing any rude things…please do let me know~

Strawberry Fields Cafe
By Cookies Cream | April 29, 2008

Went round and round yearssss long time ago back in Taipan and saw this quite “different” signboard name on this cafe, Strawberry Fields Cafe which is in Taipan USJ10. This cafe is “Halal”.

A quick glance through it this cafe looks pretty much in common/standard and does not have fancy interiors…but it’s comfortable and pretty cozy. I think this cafe is pretty much a combination of Thai and Western food as it’s written on the menu header.

Shujin is always IN LOVE with Iced Lemon Tea.

I on the other hand ordered Strawberry Milk Shake because…..their cafe’s name is called strawberry field. So, what I expected will something good (supposedly), but this milk shake is cheap so can’t expect much. The end result after tasting…..it’s no good at all. I think they just add in some normal strawberry ice cream (little cough med syrup) into milk and blend it.

I ordered their Butter Cream Chicken Rice. I didn’t expect this butter chicken to be fulled of
“bird’s eye” cili padi! Actually I was supposed to be super happy to see all the cili padi but I was having sore throat that night….iskk iskkk. The chicken meat was just ok. I would wish the gravy to be a little thicker and buttery.

Shujin ordered seafood platter. So, what’s nice on this plate? There’s 3 big head prawns, fish, calamari rings, fries, baked bean, and coleslaw served with mayonnaise + lemon piece. I love calamari so I took one to try. OMG, the batter on the calamari was a BIG NO NO! It’s lembik (I don’t know why) which didn’t give the crispy texture. Their calamari rings were cut thickly. The prawns isn’t really fresh but at least it tasted sweet. Not much comment on the fish as it was pretty crispy on the outside.
I have to say that their coleslaw was delish. They added cucumber in which gives you the extra crunch! =)

Dessert was banana boat. The ice cream is alright, I just needed some dessert that’s all.

But, the banana isn’t right. If you look at this photo, you can see the banana was already half spoilt. And yet they cut it and place it on the dessert plate to serve to customer. It’s not something serious but….still…

By Cookies Cream | April 13, 2008
If I’m not mistaken I remembered that Tummy Thoughts used to and love to make her readers to guess on certain things that she have posted. =}
I would also like my readers to try to guess the photo below. Tee Heee~~~
Besides guessing, I think this photo also speaks out what I’m going through right now for my training. The road in front of you isn’t flat and smooth…but it’s full of bumps and holes. Once you’re not careful, then you might fall into the hole…and….. @.@

Look Out Point
By Cookies Cream | March 29, 2008
Shujin suggested that we go Lok lok at Look Out Point. So, Shujin found some map on the Internet on how to go to look out point and we ventured up with my parent.
The road was like snake very winding. When we reached there we were refreshed by the environment and scenery over there. We went to Look Out Point restaurant for dinner as they are the only occupied restaurant. There was a restaurant named Bread & Olive but it was quite empty.
I will not elaborate much on the food as the food here does not suit my taste bud.

This is the Chocolate Ice Blended (RM5.80) and it wasn’t so tasty.

This is the Ice Lemon Tea

This is Lime Juice (RM3.80) without sugar ordered by daddy.

This is their Mushroom Soup (RM4.30). I was quite surprised when the soup arrived as the soup was presented with fried shallots on top. The soup is not not not not not not nice.

This is their Special Chicken Chop (RM 12.80).

This is their Special Lamb Chop (RM 14.30). Their ham was still chilled as it was served on our table.

This is Curry Beef served with rice (RM 8.30). This is the only dish that receives complements from dad. I don’t eat beef so I could not elaborate on the taste.

This is Chicken Maryland (RM 12.80) and this is seriously unacceptable. @.@

This is Grilled Fish (RM 10.90). I don’t like this dish either.
I guess this is the end of Look Out Point Restaurant’s review from me. I really don’t know what to say about it as their food and drinks were really not up to par with even those normal western food restuarants. I guess the only reason this restaurant is always crowded is simply because of the view that you can get there.
After an unsatisfied dinner at the restaurant, we went for a walk at look out tower.

After the walk we stopped by Bread & Olive.

We were having difficulty choosing a drink from the menu. This is B&O Flava Layers (RM 9.50) . You can choose any four out of six flavors available on the menu. There’s Kiwi, Strawberry, Guava, Mango, Avocado and Banana. I chose Banana, Mango, Kiwi, and Strawberry. I love this drink a lot because they were concentrated from the fruits. BUT, try to consume it when it’s still chilled because it’s no so nice when it’s warm.

This is the Fatayer that we ordered. It was very special. They have 3 different type of fillings inside. There’s one with chicken meat, one with some vege (spinach or something), and one with cheese.

This is the Sambosa dish with cheese. it was quite special as well. The puff was fragrant with some cheese fillings inside.

Restoran Bamboo Park, Kepong
By Cookies Cream | March 18, 2008

Bamboo Park’s Iced Peach Tea. I love it’s aromatic peachy smell. It made me feels relax and chill. I lurvvee peach!

The Yam Milk Shake tasted not bad. It wasn’t too sweet or too bland. But if compared to Station One’s Yam Milk Shake, I’ll vote for Station One.

Shujin ordered Curry Chicken with Man Tou. The gravy was thick enough with ambrosial curry spices. The potato cubes were soft enough too. Though it’s tasted good, it was a tad too oily and the chicken were mainly covered with bones and little meat.

The man tou was quite acceptable to be eaten, dipping it with the thick curry gravy. I say it’s acceptable is because it was a little disappointing for me. I would hope that the bread will be a soft and fluffy inside as well, instead of being just crispy on the outside but not soft on the inside.

The very chewy Cheese Escargot. It was a mistake to have ordered this. Well, the good side of this is that it has chunks of fragrant garlic. The bad side was the cheese was too chewy that it made you feel like you’re not eating real cheese? It was oily and I’m not sure if it’s olive oil or from the cheese.

Another surprise is that the escargot flesh were very chewy, and it doesn’t taste fresh at all! Oh ya, forgot to mention that there were some corns at the bottom of this escargot dish.

Last but not least, Special Fried Noodle. In Chinese they named it as “something King Fried Noodle”. It is actually something like “Yuet Kwong Yee Mee” (Not “Yuet Kwong Hor”). The noodle were cooked to a just nice condition, giving it a not too hard or too soft texture. It has loads of stuffs like “kai lan”, carrots, baby corn, button mushrooms, snow peas, crab sticks, squids, prawns, mushrooms, and 1 raw egg in the middle. The taste was fine, just one thing that doesn’t reach was the “wok hei”.
