BBQ Plaza - Sunway Piramid
By Cookies Cream | August 20, 2008
I’ve always wanted to try out this place since the first time I saw their tv advertisement placed on their entrance. The advertisement’s concept is quite funny and interesting. Having the crowd eating their steamboat, and then all turned into vampire-look-a-like with sharp teeth…haha. Not bad not bad.
It’s quite common for me to wait a little while to get our table as I always see the place’s packed with crowd.

After a while we got ourselves seated, ordered a Family Mixed and a Supreme Mixed set. This is what they gave to us. A saucer filled with some yummy sweet sauce for dipping. The long saucer that consists of chili padi (bird’s eye), lime, and chopped garlic are for you to mix into the sweet sauce. The saucer of whitish looking thingy is actually raw pork lard.

Look at those lovely red colored meat that resembles how fresh they are! See the front row of meat that consists some fats on it? And the ones in the middle, both of these were pork. The last row of meat were actually beef.

The prawns were actually quite fresh too. It’s a different kind of steamboat experience. But I will still prefer Chinese steamboat.

See the top part of this steamboat pot? It’s actually pork lard. Yes, you put those raw pork lard on top to get a substitute kind of oil. It’s used to ensure that those meats won’t get burnt or sticked onto the pot while you grill them.
